Skating The Ottawa Rideau Canal – Black and White

We took advantage of one of the last days of the Ottawa Canal being open for skating this season (2014-2015). It was a record for the most (59) consecutive days of the canal being open. I thought I would try some black and white to capture the skaters, who seemed to be particularly jovial this evening.

Photography 101 – Architecture of the Incas

I didn’t take photos today, but could not resist one of the greatest architectural marvels of the world. Prehistoric architecture of granite without any mortar at all. Just precision cutting and fitting. Truly Amazing. I have visited Machu Picchu in Peru, twice, in 2009 and 2011.

What is the most amazing architectural wonder you have ever seen??

Photography 101 – Solitude

Capture a snapshot that conveys the state of being alone.

I have always misunderstood the 1/3 rule.  I always thought I was supposed to put the subject the thirds area, not on the cross hairs. Do you think this photo would have been improved if the boat was more in the cross-hair section?

Weekly Photo Challenge – Good Morning

I try to take a morning walk everyday, sometimes by myself and sometimes with a companion. It has become something my body and mind craves.

On this morning, I was early enough to get the morning fog and mist.

B&W New York Markets and Food Fairs

I have been to NYC many times. On this trip I decided to enjoy it like a real New Yorker. I strolled the markets and food fairs. Williamsburg has some wonderful food at Smorgasburg – Yum Yum!!
